Week 5 Assignment 2

Philosophy of using games and game design in the classrooms!

Teachers Perspective:

There is a ton in the literature about developing critical thinking at a young age. Designing a game is a great way to help students problem solve, and think critically. Game design lends itself to creating hands on lessons which crosses many different subjects, math, science, literacy etc...

Students Perspective:
Designing a game can be exhilarating. Each time a student creates something they can call their own, it is very rewarding. Especially when they can use their imagination and think outside the box and in their own comfort zone. Maybe they like music so it will be a music game, or math etc...

1 comment:

  1. You are right! Game design is thrilling for students. I like the point you bring up about students being able to think in their own comfort zone. It is important to cater to students' interests.
